Your Curves Complete journey may just be starting, or you may be nearing the finish line and close to your goal.  Your Curves Complete journey will teach you a lot about yourself, maybe more than you ever wanted to know!  No matter where you are at on your journey, you have most likely experienced some ups and downs, but you are learning how to navigate those.  More importantly, you are learning the importance of support and motivation along the way!

Whenever you embark on a new adventure, start a new job, or try to lose weight, you need support.  You need people to help you along the way; to be your cheerleaders!  Reflect back to your first week on Curves Complete, when you first started your journey toward weight loss.  It may be happening right now!  Who did you turn to for support when you had tough days and do you still turn to those people for motivation?  You may answer your friends, co-workers, fellow Curves members, or Curves Complete Coach, but I think many of you said, FAMILY.

Your family provides motivation to keep you going and pats on the back for a job well done.  Without your family’s support, it would be easy to give in and give up.  To help family support you, even more, why not include them on the fun?  Your family gave you the gift of support, so why not give them back the gift of health!  Here are some simple ways to get your family in on the action and teach them how to live a healthy active life:

Family TV night?

Instead of gathering around a bowl of buttery popcorn, choose a healthy snack. During each commercial break, walk around the living room, march in place, or perform standing squats!  Have a contest to see who can get the most steps or squats during the commercial break!

Feeling full after dinner?

Walk it off, and take the whole family with you!  Perhaps your kids enjoy bike riding more. If so, hop on a bike yourself or walk while they ride.  This is a great way to bond as a family and burn more calories while you’re at it!

Are the kids part of a rugby or soccer team?

A couple of evenings each week, get outside and help your kids practice their skills!  Who knows? You may find a new sport you love!

WALK the dogs instead of simply putting them in the backyard.

It’s tempting to just let the dogs outside.  If you think about it, you generally have a few minutes to spare when you could walk them around the block.  Take advantage of this time with your kids.  Everyone can burn more calories and get extra steps in, not to mention, your furry family member will be happier too!
