• 1/2 Raw onion, chopped                                     
  • 500g Beef mince, extra lean                                 
  • 3 tsp Curry powder                                   
  • 1tsp Tumeric                                               
  • 1tsp Coriander powder                                          
  • ½ tsp Cumin                                  
  • 1 tsp Ginger                                 
  • 1tsp Cinnamon                                          
  • Salt and pepper                                               
  • 2 TBS Worchestersire sauce                                   
  • 100g Apple, peeled and grated                                           
  • 170g Seedless raisins                                               
  • 3 TBS Fruit chutney                                    
  • 2 TBS Tomato paste                                   
  • 1 cup Skimmed milk                                   
  • 2 Egg, large                                            
  • Spray and Cook



*Please note, 1 serving of the bobotie recipe serves 5 (250g)

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C
  2. Peel & grate apple. Peel and chop onion and garlic. Mix all dry spices together.
  3. Coat a large, heavy, ovenproof pan with the Spray and Cook and heat over medium-high heat. Place onion and garlic in the pan and sauté until light golden. Add dry spices and fry. Add mince and cook until done. Add salt and pepper to taste
  4. Add Worcestershire sauce, grated apple, raisins, chutney, tomato paste and mix well. Transfer to ovenproof dish. Mix milk and egg and pour over the mince. Put a few bay leaves on top. Bake in oven until cooked
