MUSHROOM-CHEDDAR STUFFED BURGER

 

Ingredients

  • Spray and Cook
  • 115g lean beef mince
  • 1 tsp Tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp mozarella cheese 1/4 whole tomato(es) - medium
  • ¼ garlic clove
  • ¼  onion
  • 2 tbsp mushrooms
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½  tbsp Lite mayo
  • 1 Best of Both hamburger bun
  • ¼  cup Iceberg lettuce- shredded


Directions

  1. Chop half the onion and slice the other half. Chop mushrooms and garlic
  2. Spray a small pan with the spray and cook. Place the chopped onion in the pan and cook over low to medium heat until almost soft. Add the mushrooms and garlic and cook for another 10 to 12 minutes, or until the mushrooms have released their moisture. Use more spray if needed. Allow to cool
  3. Form the meat into a flat patty
  4. Place the onion/mushroom mixture in the centre of burger and fold the beef over the mixture, concealing the stuffing. Sprinkle with the Worcestershire sauce
  5. Allow to sit at room temperature 30 minutes before cooking
  6. In a small bowl, combine the mayo and tomato sauce 
  7. Cook the burger to your desired degree of doneness, topping with the cheese for the last 3 to 4 minutes. Slice tomato and onion thinly, shred lettuce, and set aside
  8. Place stuffed burger on the bottom of a toasted bun. Drizzle with the sauce. Layer the tomato, onion, and lettuce on the burger and cover with the top half of the bun
